Born in Xi’an in 1971, lives and works between Paris and Beijing.

Over the years, An Xiaotong has continuously explored contemporary works and presentation methods in contemporary cultural ecology. She has organized and participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions worldwide. At the same time, she also produced a series of works in public art institutions in different countries.

Since 2018, she has explored human connections on the Internet through her artistic work. His works address contemporary communication mechanisms, replacing traditional means with new concepts.

She uses elements of traditional painting in landscape scrolls nearly sixty meters long, creating multi-layered landscapes that evoke an idealized utopia, post-disaster ruins or ghosts on the verge of disappearing. His innovative approach involves the use of water, ink and paper to create conceptual landscapes that reveal hidden images when observed closely.
